Skilled Burn Injury Attorneys Located in Agoura Hills, CA

Dedicated accident lawyers at your disposal

Burns can leave lasting physical and mental scars and inflict great physical, emotional and psychological pain on those who have been injured. Unfortunately, fires occur far too often. A September 2011 report from the National Fire Protection Association stated that our U.S. fire department responded to approximately 1,331,500 fires in 2010 alone, and that these fires resulted in 3,120 civilian deaths, 72 firefighter deaths, 17,720 civilian injuries and many more injuries to firefighters.

At The Law Office of Bryman & Apelian, we are dedicated to protecting the rights of those who have suffered burn-related injuries due to the actions of others. Both Mr. Bryman & Mr Apelian have successfully tried lawsuits involving heat, electricity, chemicals and friction that cause burns either from automobiles, dangerous products, construction zones, treadmills and more.

Our firm's commitment to burn victims

The Law Office of Bryman & Apelian has been recognized as a "Hero" for its work and financial contributions made to burn victims and the support it has provided to the Children's Burn Foundation. The foundation provides reconstructive treatment and support services to those who are 18 years of age or younger who have suffered from burn injuries and has developed and hosted fire prevention and awareness programs on an international basis. We strongly believe in its ability to make a difference and return lost childhoods to young burn survivors.

Types of burns

The severity of burns can be broken down into four categories:

  • First-degree burns, which impact the first layer of the skin. These burns cause the tissue directly below the skin to redden and swell.
  • Second-degree burns, which can be superficial or deep partial-thickness burns. Depending on their depth, these burns may injure a small or large part of the tissue below the skin. Superficial partial-thickness burns can blister and swell, and deep partial-thickness burns make the skin look spotted and may become infected if not treated with care.
  • Third-degree burns, which are full-thickness burns where the burn extends through all the skin's layers and tissues. Medical treatment is critical to heal third-degree burns.
  • Fourth-degree burns, which impact all layers of skin and tissues as well as blood vessels, muscles, ligaments, tendons and even bones. As with third-degree burns, medical treatment is critical.
